It works on the goals of ending hunger, supporting sustainable agriculture, and achieving food security and good nutrition. 1/3 of the food produced in the world every year is wasted. More than 820 million people in the world are struggling with hunger. If just ¼ of the tons of food wasted every year were saved, hunger could be ended. The basis of the Food Banking system’s working principle is to deliver basic needs to disadvantaged groups. The aim is to contribute to the good nutrition of individuals in need, especially with healthy foods saved from waste.
